Blending country and jazz, Thayer pays homage to legendary players like Merle Travis and Chet Atkins

Recorded on an acoustic steel string, Jukebox, was created and recorded in collaboration with the masterful JJ Appleton. With JJ’s help, the arrangements and playing compliment Thayer’s beautiful playing on this wonderful album filled with instrumental Country classics.

Runnin’ on Faith

Thayer’s second album, Runnin’ on Faith, provides more twang than Country Time in the Big City. Recorded on a Fender Telecaster, the listener gets the bite of a single coil pickup. Fast paced originals with ballads accompanied by a thick tremolo, sets the pace for this album. The title track has a western feel, filled with drama and excitement. The album closes on a beautiful ballad filled with swells.

Country Time In the Big City

This debut album, is a collection of instrumental guitar pieces played on an electric Gretsch, Country Gentlemen, in the style of Chet Atkins. The title track is an appropriate blend of Country and Jazz. Ragtime melodies, such as “The Lazy Pigeon” and beautiful ballads, such as “Hollow” bring the guitar and Fender Princeton Reverb to life in this beautiful collection.
